Mother's Day

It was a wonderful Mother's Day for me this year. Joe and the kids got me a much needed pedicure and Joe gave me several hours to myself. With those hours I ventured out to IKEA. I love that store. I think I could go there everyday (okay that's a bit much, but I do like it). However, my favorite gift was something that Vince did at preschool for me. He went to a pottery coloring store and made me a flower vase. He painted it green, his favorite color. Also, with the help of his teachers he made a note about me. It reads as follows (his answers in bold):

My Mom
By
Vince
My Mom's Name is Jennifer.
She is 18 years old. (don't I wish) Her favorite foods are burgers and cake. She likes to drink beer. Her favorite color is yellow and her favorite flower is a pink one. Her hobbies are playing with me and going shopping.
She is special to me because she plays games with me.
If I could give her anything in the world it would be a huge plane and a rocket ship because she would like to fly.
Happy Mother's Day!
I laughed so hard when I read it. I cried too. The funny thing is, I have had maybe a hand full of beers in two years, not such a great thing to share with a religious preschool. Oh well! And I hardly ever eat burgers or cake. It is so funny what children will say about their parents. I thought it was so cute and I wanted to share.

Easter in Virginia

I decided to take Vince and Morgan to Mom and Dad's for a couple of days before Easter. It is always such a great time when visit them. Joe came up on Friday for the weekend and Easter. Unfortunately, Morgan had one of her many colds and felt awful. She was a trooper, though. We were still able to get some great pictures of Vince and Morgan in there Easter outfits, going on an egg hunt and fishing. Vince and Morgan had a wonderful time looking through their Easter baskets, as well.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

There was a pea...

...in Morgan's nose. We were eating dinner and I looked over at her and she had her finger up her nose. I took it out and saw something green. I got a tissue to get it out and low and behold it was a pea. Thank goodness it came out. The adventures of motherhood just keep coming. :-)

Winter one week...Summer the next

One week ago today, I finally got what I wished for...SNOW! It was great! We got about 4 inches, the kids loved it and so did Joe and I. Vince and Morgan had the best time playing in it and eating it as well.

Joe helped Vince and Morgan make the snowman.

Joe made a much smaller snowman and all Morgan wanted to do was eat the snow and carrot they used for the nose.

Having fun in the snow.
After having temperatures in the mid-30's most the week and bundling up in our coats, hats and gloves, the end of the week ended on an upswing. The mid-70 degree weather melted all the snow and lead to shorts and t-shirts. It is amazing what a couple days can bring.

A few family pictures

Adding a few new pics of Joe, Vince and Morgan.

And by the way, everyone is healthy this week. Keep your fingers crossed for next week...

Having a snack.

The kiddos get so excited to see Joe when he comes home from work.

Not only is Morgan wearing one of Vince's sleepers but she is wearing a pair of Vince's Buzz Lightyear underwear. She took them out of his drawer and screamed until we put them on.

Music in the family

I took piano lessons for 10 years in my younger days in hopes that I would actually be able to play the piano. Well, decades later after all the lessons, I still can't play. I am sure my parents are real happy about it considering they paid for the lessons. Anyway, this is a look into the future in hopes that Vince and Morgan will learn to play an instrument.

10

That 's how many colds Vince has had since September. Morgan is on 8 and Joe and I are not far behind. I can't stand it anymore. I am sooooooo ready for the summer. He just got over having one last week and here it is again. I guess I should expect one for Morgan next week. I just want them to have a break already.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaa!!

Okay, I feel a little bit better.
